Diamond's first cello sonata dates from 1936, revised in 1938 (the year of his Guggenheim Fellowship), and is dedicated to the composer Roger Sessions and his wife Elizabeth. It was published by Theodore Presser, which now supplies a 44-page score and part printed from the composer's original edition (also as a PDF download). Diamond's catalogue also includes a 1938 Cello Concerto, a Sonata for cello alone (1956–59), a second cello-and-piano sonata (1987) and Kaddish for cello and orchestra.
