About this piece

Cello All Sorts is a collection of 20 easy pieces for cello and piano by Naomi Yandell, a Cambridge cellist and teacher. Trinity College London Press published the revised edition (TCL208500, 48 pages) in August 2025. It replaces an earlier Initial-Grade 3 edition of 23 pieces, which is now out of print. Six of the pieces are Yandell's own: Battle Call, Along the Track, Sunday Afternoon, Footsteps, Choc-Ice Blues and Distant Dancers. The rest are her arrangements of traditional tunes and hymns, of themes by Handel, Mozart, Schubert and Sullivan, and of Arthur Hamilton's Sing a Rainbow. Trinity's cello repertoire list from June 2025 sets 13 of the pieces: three at Initial, five at Grade 1, two at Grade 2 and three at Grade 3.
