About this piece
A duo for two cellos that the composer describes as a tense committee meeting where no one agrees but everyone insists on being heard. Rather than melody or harmony it works through interruption, mimicry and combative dialogue, using snap pizzicato, col legno, exaggerated plucks and abrupt bow strokes. Commissioned by the cello duo India Gailey and Leah Plave with support from the Canada Council for the Arts; premiered 29 April 2026 at the Scotia Festival, Halifax.
