About this piece

Cradle Song is a short piece for cello and piano by the Russian pianist and composer Alexander Basilov (1946–2007), who taught piano at the Gnessin State Musical College in Moscow. His daughter, the pianist Helena Basilova, has promoted his music since 2012, and Donemus began publishing his newly found works in 2018. In the linked video she performs it with the cellist Maya Fridman for the Dutch broadcaster VPRO.
