About this piece
Soar is Douglas Knehans's Cello Concerto No. 1 (2006), which also exists in a version for cello and piano dedicated to the cellist Christian Wojtowicz and the conductor Tze Law Chan; Donemus publishes both. The linked recordings, on the composer's Bandcamp page, are the orchestral version with Jiří Hošek and the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic under Christopher Lyndon Gee (from the album Douglas Knehans: Concertos, 2015), and the cello and piano version with Wojtowicz and the pianist Arabella Teniswood-Harvey (from Fractured Traces: New Music for Cello, 2010).
