About this piece
Night Music (Nachtmuziek) is a five-minute piece for cello and piano by Daan Manneke, written in 2012 for the Album project, in which the cellist Doris Hochscheid and the pianist Frans van Ruth asked thirty Dutch composers to write short duos for amateur cellists and pianists. Manneke, an organist, conductor and long-time composition teacher at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, is also the founder of the chamber choir Cappella Breda. The linked recording is by Hochscheid and van Ruth.
