Willem Pijper composed his Cello Concerto in 1936 and revised it in 1947, the year he died; Donemus publishes the revised version, which is dedicated to the memory of Marnix Loevensohn. It lasts about 14 minutes. Pijper was one of the most important Dutch composers of the early 20th century and an influential teacher.
