A four-movement suite for cello and piano (Prelude, Pantomime, Dirge, Recessional) lasting about 15 minutes. Reference works date it to 1949, the year before the New York Philharmonic premiere of Swanson's Short Symphony brought him national attention. It is published by Weintraub Music through Wise Music Classical, and has been recorded by Anthony Elliott with pianist Toni-Marie Montgomery and by Duo Dolce (Kristen Yeon-Ji Yun and Phoenix Park-Kim) on their 2020 album 'Summerland'.
