About this piece
Three short 'bow dances' for cello and piano, written in 2003 for the cellist Boris Pergamenschikow, who premiered them with the composer in Heidelberg on 8 April 2003. The three movements contrast a very free opening (Tempo molto rubato), a calm but strongly rhythmic middle dance (Calmo e molto ritmico) and a quicker close (quarter = 90), lasting about eight minutes in all. Unlike most of her cello works, it is available as a printed sales edition from Sikorski.
