About this piece
A four-minute piece for unaccompanied cello from 1995, first performed by Victoria Higginson in Cardiff in March 1995. It opens with forceful, free-tempo chords and flourishes that leap between the bottom of the C string and the treble-clef register, then breaks into a driving 'rhythmic' section of accented broken-chord sixteenths and chromatic lines. It is published by Composers Edition as a printed or downloadable score.
