About this piece
A set of five short Spanish-flavoured pieces for cello and piano, written for the cellist Françoise Groben of the Meininger Trio and premiered at the Celloherbst festival in Germany on 13 October 2006. The movements are Tres morillas, Duende, Nana, El Jinete and Zapateado: a song, a dark lyrical piece, a lullaby, a rider's piece and a flamenco foot-stamping dance. According to the composer, she wrote the whole set in a few days. She later arranged Duende and Zapateado for solo cello as Dos Colores Andaluces.
