About this piece
A two-movement sonata for cello and piano written in November 2018 and dedicated to cellist Marc Coppey and pianist Jean-Baptiste Fonlupt, who premiered it at the Festival de Chaillol on 19 July 2019. The seven-minute first movement is lyrical, in four sections, with the themes later returning in inverted roles between the instruments. The short second movement is a cheerful rondo whose refrain is first heard in the piano over cello pizzicato.
