About this piece
A piece for cello and piano, about eight minutes long, first written in 1999 as I Tried to Tell You and revised in 2011 under its present title. Cellist Tanya Anisimova and the composer at the piano gave the first performance in 2000 in Washington, DC, on the IN Series concert "Women's Work, Woman's Words". Their 2012 recording is the title track of Krash's chamber-music album What I Wanted to Tell You (Albany Records, 2013).
