About this piece
A duo for cello and piano from 1990 whose title is the opening line of Belmonte's aria 'Wenn der Freude Tränen fließen' from Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail. In a note on her YouTube channel, Dinescu describes the piece as a kind of musical dream journey in which quotations from Mozart are woven into other musical structures. It is published by Tonger in the Künstlergilde series Musik unserer Zeit and was recorded by cellist Wolfgang Böttcher with pianist Ursula Trede-Böttcher on the CD Tautropfen.
