About this piece
A six-movement suite for unaccompanied cello from 2003, modelled on the Bach solo suites: an Overture and an Interlude frame the traditional Allemande, Courante, Sarabande and Gigue. In her note on the recording, the composer explains that the music is built on a system of 'interferences', in which short interval cells in different rhythmic combinations break into the dance forms and keep them from becoming predictable. A complete performance by cellist Joanmary Montes (Caracas, 2018) is posted on the composer's YouTube channel.
