About this piece
A four-movement sonata for cello and piano written around 1955, after Gertrude Brückner had resettled in Munich and begun rebuilding a catalogue largely lost in 1945. The movements are Maestoso - Allegro con spirito, Adagio, a slow Introduktion, and a closing Allegro. It was first published in 2014 by Laurentius Musikverlag in Thomas Emmerig's series of first editions from the music archive of the KünstlerGilde in Regensburg, based on a copy of the autograph held there.
