Jeder Tag ein Maya Tag ('Every day a Maya day') is a twelve-minute piece for unaccompanied cello written in 1996 for cellist Maya Beiser, who premiered it at the Sacramento New Music Festival in November 1996. Lam wrote it while based in New York, where she worked closely with performers such as Beiser and the pipa player Wu Man. The score is published by Subito Music.
