Magical Flights of the Adarna Bird (2025) is a solo cello piece of about seven and a half minutes, dedicated to cellist Alexander Hersh. It is inspired by the Adarna, a bird of Filipino folklore known for its song and its healing powers. The three sections, Invocation, Spiritus and Spiraling Healing Poem, run without a break. The piece opens in the cello's highest register, and the second section begins on the open C string. Hersh's recording is on the 2026 Nimbus album Sol.
