About this piece
Fusion is a seven-minute duo for two cellos, written in 2022 on a commission from the Cello Fan festival in the Var. It is dedicated to the brothers Florent and Frédéric Audibert, who gave the premiere in Callian on 11 July 2022. In the publisher's note the composer describes two cellos that never leave each other, breathing at the same pace and drifting apart only to meet again, so the piece rests on close ensemble listening between equal partners.
