About this piece
An extended work for solo cello from 1993, about 19 minutes long in Katharina Deserno's recording. According to the notes for that album, the title refers to the crown as a symbol of spiritual opening, of passing into other spaces, and the piece is built from microtonal shifts, long glissandi, natural and artificial harmonics and fine gradations of tone colour. Dinescu, a Romanian-German composer, has worked closely with Deserno, who recorded it on her 2023 album Deserno plays Dinescu. The score is published by Edition Kemel and sold in print or as a PDF by Noten Roehr.
