About this piece

An arrangement for cello and piano by César Madeira of Chiquinha Gonzaga's Brazilian tango Gaúcho, better known as Corta-jaca, sold as a digital score with parts. Gonzaga (1847-1935) was a Rio de Janeiro pianist, composer and conductor, the first woman to compose for the Brazilian national theatre; her Corta-jaca caused a political scandal when it was played at the Palácio do Catete in 1914. This arrangement is set for the Trinity College London Grade 4 cello exam.
