About this piece
A three-movement sonata in G major by the Brazil-born English composer Amy Horrocks, a student, teacher and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music: an Allegro con brio, a theme with five variations, and an Allegro vivace finale. It is dedicated to the cellist Alfredo Piatti and was published in London by Joseph Williams. Catherine Wilmers and Jill Morton made its first recording on A Cello Galaxy of British Women Composers (Divine Art, 2025).
