About this piece
The broad tune from 'Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity' in Holst's orchestral suite The Planets, later sung as the hymn 'I Vow to Thee, My Country'. This is Colin Cowles's arrangement for cello and piano in 14 Easy Tunes for Cello (Fentone), a book of melodies in rising order of difficulty with a play-along CD; Trinity College London lists it for Grade 2. Holst lived with neuritis in his right arm for much of his life, which shaped how he could play and write.
