About this piece

Nine short pieces for cello and piano set for ABRSM's Initial Grade cello exam from 2024, three from each of Lists A, B and C, together with the scales and sight-reading for the grade. The pieces run from a Renaissance dance (La Bergamasca) and Czech and German folk tunes arranged by Kathy and David Blackwell to new pieces by living composers: Althea Talbot-Howard's The Knights' Pavane, Nancy Litten's Crunch Time and Jemima Oosthuizen's Ladybird Laze, plus Nikki Iles's arrangement of Blowin' in the Wind. The pack includes the cello part and the piano accompaniment, and ABRSM's recordings of the pieces, with piano-only backing tracks, are on the main streaming services.
