About this piece

Pam Wedgwood, a former professional horn player with more than 200 books to her name, began her Jazzin' About series in 1988 [1]. Sometime Maybe is No. 8 in the cello volume, which Faber published in 1992, and ABRSM sets it for Grade 4 [1]. ABRSM's note hears a solo line that keeps searching and never quite settles [1]. Over a slow tempo the cello hangs on repeated high notes in triplets, pushes forward in a louder middle section, and takes a short breath before the opening theme returns [1]. Katherine Jenkinson and Martin Cousin recorded it for ABRSM's Grade 4 album [2].
